Cool Valentines Day Ideas Worth the Splurge

Cool Valentines Day Ideas Worth the Splurge

The older I get, the more I love giving (and receiving!) gifts of experience. This past Christmas, instead of a traditional gift, I got my boyfriend a Backstage Penguin Pass, for the two of us to meet, hold and feed the penguins at Audubon Aquarium. That gift of experience was totally worth the splurge. In search of more cool Valentine’s Day ideas, and awesome gifts of experience that will create memories to last a lifetime? IfOnly is the world’s largest marketplace for one-of-a-kind experiences with the world’s top talents. Great gifts for any time of the year, but they have put together a truly remarkable collection of Valentine’s Day inspired gifts and experiences

Love Lift Us Up Where We Belong…

What lover wouldn’t swoon at the thought of a romantic adventure for two, overlooking some of the world’s most beautiful locales? IfOnly offers incredible aerial adventures, like a sunset seaplane adventure over San Francisco, a balloon flight over the Grand Canyon, or even getting married in a hot air balloon while flying over Napa Valley!

A portion of the proceeds from both the Napa Valley aerial wedding adventure and the romantic flight over San Francisco benefit Tipping Point, which fights poverty by working with non-profits in the San Francisco area.

The Sunset Seaplane Adventure starts at just $240 per person, while the Grand Canyon hot-air balloon experience is more of a once-in-a-lifetime splurge at $8,750 per person. (But if I had that kind of money to blow, it would be SO worth it! A girl can dream, right?)

As far as weddings go, getting married in the sky could be a practical bargain for those looking for an intimate affair! $4,000 gets you a private morning ballooning experience over Napa Valley for up to 12 guests and includes the wedding officiant.

Food Is The Way To Their Heart This Valentine’s Day…

Does the thought of being airborne make you weak in the knees? Stay grounded and enjoy a spectacular twist on a traditional V-day dinner with one of IfOnly’s extraordinary culinary experiences.

Host an elegant multi-course dinner party at your home this Valentine’s Day, with farm-fresh food prepared by boutique catering house Maison-Prive. This experience is available to those in the NYC / Connecticut area.

Also available to New Yorkers, enjoy a romantic meal for two in the comfort of your own home, prepared with care by Chef Greg Brown. Think seared scallops with cauliflower and brown butter, sunchoke soup with crispy shallots and chive, and 3-day braised short ribs, followed by chocolate bread pudding. (Of course the chef will prepare a menu just for you and your date, guaranteed to please your palate!)

Live in Los Angeles? This Valentine’s Day, have an unforgettable culinary experience as Chef Lori Hill introduces you to Korean cuisine with a trip to the farmers market, followed by a cooking class and gourmet dinner in your home.

Cool Business Cards for Makeup Artists

A business card is an important part of how you promote your brand – and when you’re a makeup artist, the brand is YOU! If you’re a makeup artist that has great professional photos of your work, I highly recommend using the best photo on your business card, to show off your work to prospective clients. Some of the business cards for makeup artists seen below allow you to upload your own photos and most cards are customizable.

Cool Business Cards for Makeup Artists

This is a quintessential business card idea for a makeup artist, featuring a bright red lip! Customize it with your name and details, and take the personalization one step further with your choice of paper styles, and even rounded corners!

Cool Business Cards for Makeup Artists

A simple, clean design like this striped business card would be great for a makeup artist who works with a lot of traditional brides and needs something that still has a creative edge.

Cool Business Cards for Makeup Artists

How fun is this eye shadow palette inspired business card design? Super cute and girly, this card is fun for cosmetologists or makeup artists looking for a cool business card to express a playful personality.

Cool Business Cards for Makeup Artists

Maybe you’d like something bright and bold, but less obviously “makeup artist.” For someone who wears multiple hats and is looking for a memorable card, I LOVE how vibrant this business card is – it would be fun for a makeup artist, but would work well for an interior designer or wedding planner too. Any creative professional could use a card as stylish as this!

Black and White Bathroom Ideas

Bathrooms are one of the easiest areas in the home to update, quickly and cheaply, through features like a new shower curtain and bath accessories. I love the simplicity of a black and white bathroom – the bathroom should be a place of tranquility, a place to help you feel refreshed, where you can get ready for the day ahead. Whether you’re seeking an entirely new look for your bathroom, or just want to update a few key components, I’ve gathered some fun black and white bathroom ideas to inspire you!

Cool pinup home decor can sometimes be tricky to find, but luckily I’ve uncovered a few great pieces that will work well in any retro bathroom! Indie designer Kathy Steig offers a variety of pinup inspired hand towels, including these black & white tattoo girl towels.

It doesn’t get much cuter than an adorable retro pinup girl holding a cute dog, as is the case with this Puppy Lover Retro Pin-up Girl Toothbrush Holder and Soap Dispenser Set. And of course, a pinup girl inspired bathroom wouldn’t be complete with a pinup girl shower curtain! Lucky for you, Sin in Linen has just the shower curtain to suit your style. (My friend Jene has this shower curtain in her bathroom, and it looks great!)

Cute Halloween Costumes for Babies

Lil Characters Unisex-baby Infant Dragon CostumeIt’s almost time for Halloween! Which also means it’s time to doll up my baby niece in some super duper cute Halloween baby costumes!

My sister and brother-in-law are both pretty big geeks as it is, so I’m sure they will have no problem dressing the little tyke up in ridiculous costumes, like this Baby Dragon Costume. The only question remains – which one?? There are so many great ones to choose from. Maybe that just means that the whole month of October will have to be a costume extravaganza! (It doesn’t hurt that we live in the land of Mardi Gras, and she’ll still be plenty small enough to get lots of costume wear during Carnival season in January and February!)

Real baby elephants have to be one of the absolute cutest animals around. But even more so? A baby in a baby elephant costume! Whether for Easter or Halloween, there’s no denying the cuteness of a baby in a bunny suit. Not to mention, how cute is this tiny king of the jungle – a baby in a tiger costume!

See what I did there too?? It’s PUNNY!) Just like 2 peas in a pod. Oh wait, that’s just one pea… Dress your peanut up like the Planter’s guy. Monocle, cane and top hat not included. This little guy is always playing catch-up with his big brothers and sisters. (Get it? See what I did there??) I do love munching on those tasty chocolate chews. Something, however, tells me that this Tootsie Roll wouldn’t taste quite as good…
